The Hum is metaphoric. A sourceless resonance. Ongoing. The Hum investigates dimensions of a shared experience and body directed phenomena. We question formats and celebrate the opposite of historically functionalised settings, and considering more experiments on the floor – experiments by all its present entities.

One Stone Drops Into Two Ponds (At The Same Time) – They Were On The Verge Of A Kind Of Change with AMANDA ELENA CONRAD, BEATE KAULITZ, ROMINA SYLVIA ACHATZ, RAMONA CIDEJ. Frameworks and connections by Christin Bolte.
Space-directed entities run against each other, superimposing one over another, yet vary inescapably. Sculptural elements, images, sound and body form syndicates in unstable constellations. Texts and textiles circulating. Swooshing. A glance drifts by, and then slips away. Levels shift. I feel you, they say in their mind, and yet they mean the floor. Light falls uncertainly on this terrain.
The studio is under suspicion of isolating the self from an outside - as well as being a place of common cause. In a fragile community, artists explore the Acud studio as an open field of an Unfinished. In ever-changing situations, the formats of installation, performance and lecture interfere with one another and they question their own contours.
Corporeal phenomena disrupt boundary lines, test potentials of the transient and unravel the actuality of perceptual limits. Their unconditional cohesion is confidence in the certainty of instability. Together for themselves it is about nothing less than reality or - the impossibility of this. Not one but many.
Opening: Thursday 14 September 7-11 pm
Friday 15 to Sunday 17 September, 1-11 pm, continuous performances
Closing: Sunday 17 September 6 pm with The Hum DJs

March 3, 2016 The Hum 303 DJ and dance session
Don't DJ (Berceuse Heroique) is interested in what he calls "musique acéphale" - a metric which has no distinct starting point and thus encourages the listener to constantly switch his metric focus to discover different "points of listen" within the same arrangement. Don't DJ seeks to inspire consciousness to wander beyond culturally suggested boundaries of the perception of reality.
Vladimir Ivkovic (Offen Music / Salon des Amateurs) is resident of the seminal Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf. Since playing a pivotal role in Belgrade’s first “house” parties in the earliest 90s and soundtracking surreal gatherings at the sea, Vladimir’s knowledge has expanded at an alarming rate, documented by cult recordings that are frustratingly hard to find.

Noctuidae is humming... Humbled to join Noctuidae, the gregorian new year for The Hum is starting close to the waters namely at the port of Hum-burg. Noctuidae is a night run by Nikae. First active as a painter Nikae/Nika Son finished her studies as a sound artist and musician with an important developement from sculptural to sound-sculptural work which led to a love for manipulated field recordings, audio fragments, synthesizer sequences and radiowaves and Nika Son.
As a DJ Nikae runs two regular nights at the notorious Hamburg Golden Pudel club (Next Time & Noctuidae) and releases her music on her own label Noctui. Her friend Nina runs her own night Nina Trifft at Golden Pudel, too. Is part of VIS (goodnews and nina) @v-i-s-music, spins records on tours of Blackest Ever Black label, and is an artist in the roster of Surefire agency.
